Our Objectives

  • Teaching and preparing these blind children for the plus-2 examination of National Integrated Open School (NIOS)
  • Training them on computers with the help of EnAble India of Bangalore and Technical Training Institute of Pune in order to make them employable in public sector and IT companies particularly for Call Canters.
  • Diversifying their talent into learning fine arts such as music, singing, drama, dance, etc.

Welcome to Brajkishore Netraheen Balika Vidyalaya


Brajkishore Netraheen Balika Vidyalaya is a non-profit residential school located in Ranchi, Jharkhand offering free educational and vocational training to blind girls. The school has been in operation since the last 31 years and is administered through a Registered Trust named Bajkishore public educational society. Most of the 38 students belong to the tribal community in Jharkhand and come from low income families.

The school is located in Ranchi and the only one in Jharkhand offering free educational and vocational training exclusively to blind girls.

The students go through a development programme which imparts vocational training along with the normal school curriculum leading to +2 examinations conducted by National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). They are also trained in music, singing, dance, drama, etc.

With the help of EnAble India of Bangalore and Technical Training Institute of Pune, we have added a programme of computer training for these blind girl students to make them financially independent. This promises to open various avenues of life for blind girls. With the prospect of computer training, their economic independence is sought to be achieved, thus giving hope to the graduating girls of our institution.

The girls will be trained on the computers to make them employable for jobs in Public Sector and IT Companies, particularly for Call Center operations.

With the help of Technical Training Institute of Pune (TTI) (managed by Pune Blind Men's Association) our girls have been trained in Pune on Call Center operation and have recieved on-the-job training in the Call Center run by vodafone. As a result with the help of Vodafone in Ranchi we have been able to open a Vodafone Call Centre has opened up vast opportunities for educated blind girls who have received training in computer operation and is the only one for blind persons in the whole of northern part of the country.

Brajkishore Netraheen Balika Vidyalaya needs all the support and encouragement in this endeavour which opens various avenues of life for blind girls. The total education, food and living expenses for one child amounts to Rs. 1,500/- per month and we request your sponsorship for as many as you can.
